Brad Watson has over 26 years of experience working with families, children and professionals in challenging situations. Brad has a focused and clear understanding of many of the issues facing today’s families and has a passion for delivering the right information and resources to help them through their daily lives. He lives in Vancouver with his wife, daughter and dog.

Editorial Director

Lissa Cowan brings to Groundwork Press her expertise in editing and writing along with her lengthy background working with not-for-profits and social service organizations. For over 10 years she has worked in the field of communications in both the public and private sectors and has widely written and published articles, non-fiction books and translations from French into English. She has been a keen observer of the publishing industry for over 15 years, directs projects through tremendous insight into what readers want and knows how to make a great idea into a great book. As an educator volunteer Lissa teaches children how to plant, grow and eat local foods in an edible garden on school grounds.

Editor and Production Manager

Jennifer Lee’s editorial expertise and unique design ideas give Groundwork Press a tremendous edge in the book industry. Her extensive community, publishing and communications experience lends itself well to developing creative projects that are relevant, dynamic and impactful. Jennifer also runs her own on-line arts magazine for youth called Wet Ink and is Managing Editor for Schema, a forthcoming culture and lifestyle magazine created for and by an emerging generation of urban, media-savvy and diverse Canadians. Jennifer’s debut literary novel, The End of East, published by Knopf Canada as part of The New Face of Fiction program, is in stores now. It is a well-known fact that the fastest and most direct way to Jennifer’s heart is through her stomach.

Elyssa Schmid | Principal, Radiant Design

Radiant Design provides integrated graphic design solutions to businesses and not-for-profit organizations across a wide range of industries. They assist entrepreneurs who have the drive to act on their ideas, but need strategic marketing solutions that will help realize their goals. Their services include art direction and graphic design for marketing collateral, corporate identity, books, publications, and environments as well as conceptualization, writing, and editorial development. Elyssa has worked with Groundwork Press on the design of all our books, as well as our print and web branding.

Audrey Plé | Magenta Marketing Inc.

Audrey Plé has over 19 years experience in marketing for both small and large organizations. She globally founded Magenta Marketing in December of 2001. Magenta’s focus is on ensuring that the company’s overall strategic goals are in line with every project and driving each project forward to a results-based completion, on time and on budget. For over two years, Audrey has worked with the Groundwork Press team on strategic planning, communications briefs, international trade shows, and on marketing and business plans. She has been instrumental in assisting the Groundwork Press team to realize organizational goals that equal success.

Atomic Eye Design

This Vancouver-based design firm was established in 1996 by senior creative talent whose diverse backgrounds range from advertising agencies, small business and teaching. Atomic Eye Design is responsible for the technical and design expertise of Groundwork Press' outstanding website.
